Our Lively Globe is a tribute to The Symbolic Globe that was built in connection with the UN World Summit for Social Development in March 1995. It was a globe structure in the middle of Copenhagen on 15 meters in diameter, which was built by the delegates who came from all parts of the world. It’s probably the first time that people from all nations of the world worked together to build a supporting structure. The word symbol is derived from the ancient Greek symbolon: characters or mortgage. When friends in ancient Greece parted, bread host pieces (symbolon), for example, a jar and gave it to friends. When they came back, it was proof of the friendship that they brought their symbolon. This idea of guest friendship was resumed during the UN World Summit, each delegate brought their symbolon in the form of a small construction part. It built they saw the Symbolic Globe by. At his physical growth should structure also symbolize the summit three main themes: solidarity, less poverty and productive work. A Globe is a ball-shaped thing, spherical or rounded: as a spherical representation of the earth or a celestial body. Our Globe is Lively.
