The kangaroos are a numerous animal family and include some of the largest marsupials. A kangaroo has long legs that are used to jump, the short front legs are used to rely on when they graze; also used their tail to keep balance. Group’s scientific name comes from the Greek macropod which means “long foot”. The kangaroos are often seen in rivers near Australia’s nearest houses. Kangaroos only live wild in Australia. A newborn kangaroo is only about 2 centimetres long.
