“The Bible” of Melina Jewellery with the ancient Greek inscription of Omiros (Homer): “ΜΙΚΡΟΣ ΔΕ ΛΙΘΟΣ ΜΕΓΑ ΚΥΜ´ΑΠΟΕΡΓΕΙ” (even a tiny stone stops a giant wave). This Greek epic poem is probably from shortly before 700 BC and extremely captivating reading. Odyssey is the story of Odysseus’ ten-year-long, perilous journey home from Troy to Ithaca after the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters numerous dangers and temptations and loses his entire crew. At the same time, we follow the events surrounding his wife, Penelope, and son, Telemachus. His wife Penelope gets flirted around at home. The poem’s last part tells of Odysseus’ homecoming and reunion with his family and the death of Penelope’s suitors. The story is written by Homer, one of antiquity’s greatest authors. European literature born with Homer’s poems. Not only do they give a great insight into the ancient way of life, ancient values ​​and history, they have also founded a school for all future narratives. The Odysseus themes such as women’s and men’s roles, God / human relationships, the known and the unknown, the concept of heroes, and the journey – and human evolution theme is a number of topics which is discussed in the poem and they are still some of the basic themes of modern literature. It has made Homer and his works into a common heritage and framework for all modern Europeans.
